Dahlia ’Sam Hopkins’

‘Sam Hopkins’ is a deep, velvety red, darkening to nearly black towards the center with broad, flat-tipped petals and a sturdy stem. This bloom can get up to 6” in width and is a beautiful waterlily form!

Siting Requirements: Full Sun, well drained, rich soil, dahlias like plenty of water for best performance.

Days To Maturity: 80-100 days

Spacing 18” - 24”

Planting depth: Roughly 2” deep

Pinch: Pinch second bud for larger blooms, but will result in less.

Harvest: when flowers are about 3/4 of the way open, cut stems about 18” long above a leaf node. Immediately place in a vase or bucket of cool water with flower food.
